How To Cope With Self-Isolation

As we are all experiencing these uncertain times; feelings of being trapped in isolation, along with constant news updates, are likely to promote anxiety and stress. It’s important that we can all remain positive and look after our mental health. Here are a few tips on how to cope with self-isolation...

Have a digital detox

With COVID-19 on every channel around the world, it’s hard to get away from all the panic. So give yourself a well-earned break from the media by taking a long bubble bath, reading a new book and having some "me time".

Facetime your loved ones

Even though you may not live with the majority of your family, make sure to have regular contact with them through calls and facetime chats. This is the perfect way to catch up with your gran, see your dog’s new hair cut or play a prank on your friends.

Home workouts

Who needs a gym when we live in a world with Joe Wicks. With his 10-minute home workouts, you’ll have that summer body before you know it. We suggest keeping yourself motivated by trying to stay in a routine, repeat this daily to maximise your efforts.

Host a party

And obviously, we don’t mean at your house. If you are lucky enough to have a balcony, host a DJ set with all your neighbours. In Italy last week whilst under lockdown, songs broke out from rooftops, balconies and windows. Who said self-isolation can’t be fun, ey?

Master a new skill

Spending time indoors might leave you feeling unproductive but now is the time to finally master that skill you’ve been meaning to get round to for months. Keep connected with tutorials online; master that recipe or try out a new make-up look. Of course, here at Beauty Works HQ, we’re obsessed with all things hair, so you’ll catch us working on our pin curls using the Molly-Mae curl kit
