Meet Luke Hearne: The Stylist Behind the Salon
From starting his Beauty Works journey as a teenager to building a thriving salon with around 2,500 regular clients, Luke Hearne has turned his passion for hair and extensions into a successful salon business.
For our latest Salon Spotlight, we caught up with Luke to find out more about his career, the growth of his salon and how hair extensions have become such an important part of the services he offers his clients.
Luke's Journey into Hair Extensions
Luke's journey with Beauty Works started at a young age. After first working with the brand at 14, he went on to complete his Beauty Works training when he qualified in 2017, aged 17.
Since then, Luke has continued to develop his skills, build his client base and establish a salon where extensions play a major part in the services offered.
"My relationship with Beauty Works has gone from strength to strength, allowing me to confidently flourish in my career and create the work I do today," Luke says.
Building a Thriving Salon
Today, Luke's salon has grown to around 2,500 regular clients, with hair extensions helping him expand both his client base and the range of transformations he can offer.
For Luke, the growth of the salon has been about continuing to evolve his services and give clients more possibilities with their hair.
"Beauty Works extensions have helped me massively grow, not only through the size of the salon but also the 2,500 regular clients we have."
As new methods, shades and techniques have become available, Luke has been able to develop his extension offering alongside his business and create increasingly personalised results for his clients.
Giving Clients More Possibilities
One of the things Luke loves most about offering hair extensions is the difference they can make to how a client feels about their hair.
And while extensions were once predominantly requested for extra length, Luke has seen a big change in what clients are coming into the salon for.
"Clients originally only wanted hair extensions for length; however, now it's all to do with colour, volume and bounce."
For some clients, extensions allow Luke to introduce shades and dimension that may be difficult to achieve on their natural hair. For others, they're used to add targeted volume, density, body or movement.
This shift has allowed Luke to take a much more bespoke approach, using extensions to enhance each client's natural hair and create a result tailored to exactly what they're looking for.
Developing His Skills with Beauty Works
Professional education has also played an important role in Luke's journey. After completing his Beauty Works training in 2017, he has continued to build on those foundations throughout his career.
"The education was extremely advanced. Not only were we shown the installation of the hair extensions, but also how to grow your Beauty Works salon."
Learning both the technical side of extensions and how to develop the service within a salon gave Luke the foundations to continue growing his skills, clientele and business.
Luke's Go-To Extension Method

It's this attention to detail and ability to tailor each application to the individual client that has become such an important part of Luke's work.
