Behind the Scenes at David Koma

Beauty Works were invited to London Fashion Week as the official hair sponsor of the David Koma A/W 2022 Fashion Show, held at the exclusive Magazine London event space. Koma’s show-stopping designs have been worn by the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Adele, Madison Beer and even Beyonce! 

Beauty Works were in good company backstage with Charlotte Tilbury as the official makeup sponsor and styling by Mark Goehring. International hair stylist Kenna was the lead hair stylist for the show, with Beauty Works ambassador Dom Seeley part of the team. 

Beauty Works muse Maya Jama was spotted amongst the crowd of it-girls on the front row, including Hana Cross, Misse Beqiri and Euphoria actress, Chloe Cherry.

The show was inspired by Koma’s recent grant to become a British Citizen after 20 years of living in London. The looks from the show pulled from British cultural references, whilst staying true to Koma’s signature sexy and bold style. British sports, football and rugby were a key theme of the collection, with the venue mimicking a playing field, taking inspiration from iconic British sporting venues such as Wembley.

The Hair

Styled with 90’s inspired double headbands and textured natural waves, the hair looks were modern, simple and sporty, complimenting the sporty element of the collection. 

The hairstylists began by saturating the top of the hair with a generous amount of Beauty Works Super Hold Hair Spray to create a sleek, pulled back look whilst taming fly-aways. 

Once the headband was on, the rest of the hair was prepped with Beauty Works Heat Protection Spray and styled into textured waves. A range of Beauty Works styling tools were used to create the looks, including the Beauty Works Flat Iron Wave Bar 25mm, along with our exclusive Salon Professional Edition Hair Straightener and 32mm Styler (available to purchase for Beauty Works trade customers or direct from your local Beauty Works salon or stockist).

Beauty Works Argan Serum was used to finish the hair to eliminate frizz and add shine.
