It's double drawn

During manufacturing, shorter hair strands are removed by hand and longer lengths are left to make up the ratio of the extensions. This process results in thicker, fuller hair from top to bottom.

Lifespan

1. WASHING

Washing your hair and extensions is essential for maintaining healthy hair, as it will keep the extensions free from product build up and nourish the hair. We advise washing your professional extensions 2-3 times a week with the Pearl Nourishing Argan Oil Shampoo (Sulphate Free) and for hair without extensions use Pearl Nourishing Argan Oil Shampoo. This can depend on your natural hair type, scalp and lifestyle. When washing your hair extensions, there are a few things to remember:

 

It is important to be a little gentler around the roots when washing your hair with extensions, to avoid pulling or catching on your extensions.

 

Make sure you thoroughly rinse your extensions after washing to avoid product build up. Without thorough rinsing, product can build up and make the hair extensions sticky or waxy which can cause knotting.

 

Always blow dry hair extensions, never leave them to dry naturally. We recommend using a microfibre towel to gently squeeze any water out of your hair and then using a heat protection spray before blow drying.

3. BRUSHING

Beauty Works brushes are created to relieve snagging of hair extensions. A highly recommended aftercare tool guaranteed to maintain hair extensions in good condition.

 

Boar Bristle Large Paddle Brush & Medium Oval Brush protects the scalp, gently de-tangles hair and reduces static. Bristle brushes are the key to shiny, healthy hair. Boar bristles are renowned for polishing and maintaining the hairs condition by being able to retain moisture, lift away dirt and distribute natural oils from the scalp to the ends of the hair.

 

The White Vegan Bristle Brush has been specially made with soft bristles, that glide effortlessly through hair to gently remove knots and detangle. The soft bristles flex within your hair to minimise breakage and reduce snagging, for smooth and glossy hair that retains body and shine. Designed for use with both hair extensions and natural hair, the soft bristles are gentle on the hair and scalp.

Salt Water Caution

Salt water can impact both the moisture and color of your hair extensions, leading to a dry, dull finish. When planning a beach day, it’s advisable to keep extensions out of the water by tying your hair up or wearing a swim cap. Chlorine Protection

Chlorine in swimming pools can cause extensions to tangle, discolor, and feel dry. Avoid swimming with extensions or, if necessary, thoroughly rinse and condition your hair immediately after exposure to chlorine. UV Rays & Sun Exposure

Intense sunlight can cause color fading in hair extensions. To protect your investment, consider wearing a hat in direct sunlight and using products from the Beauty Works summer haircare range, designed to offer UV protection. Check out our summer care blog for more seasonal tips.

Heat Styling

Heat styling is safe up to 180°C but should be limited to avoid drying out your extensions, which can lead to breakage and split ends. For best results, always use a heat protectant. Refer to our heat temperature guide for safe styling techniques.

LIFESPAN

Our extensions can last many months with proper care. To maintain healthy extensions, please review and follow the guidelines below.

AVOID COLOURING AND TONERS

We do not recommend using toners or coloring Beauty Works hair extensions. Although human hair can be dyed, we cannot guarantee how it will affect the lifespan of your extensions. Our hair undergoes several chemical processes to achieve its colour, so further coloring may not provide consistent results. Toners and silver shampoos, if overused, can shorten the life of your extensions and are not intended for daily use. All colour treatments on extensions are at the client's own risk.

ONLY USE RECOMMENDED SHAMPOOS

For general washing, we recommend using Beauty Works Pearl Nourishing Argan Oil Shampoo to gently cleanse and refresh your hair extensions. This shampoo is specifically formulated to nourish and protect extensions, helping to maintain their softness and shine. In addition, only use Beauty Works Anti-Yellow Shampoo on extensions if needed to reduce yellow tones, and be sure to follow the instructions carefully.

LIMIT WASHING AND STYLING

Excessive washing and styling can damage the cuticle and reduce the lifespan of your hair extensions. We recommend limiting washing to 2-3 times per week.

AVOID EXCESS HEAT

Using excessive heat on hair extensions can also shorten their lifespan. Avoid using temperatures above 180°C on your extensions. Before styling, apply the Beauty Works Heat Protection Spray to add a layer of defense, helping prevent dryness, breakage, and snapping. This will prolong the life of your extensions and keep them smooth and glossy.
