What Colour do you go for during Autumn/Winter?
September is here and autumn is very much in the hair. Throughout the warmer months sun-kissed hues and beachy highlights are in favour for most of us, but as the leaves start to turn, many of us start to think about booking in at the salon for a change (I know I do). But what to go for?
Well, hopefully reading this will give you a few pointers…
So here goes, these are the hair trends that will get you in the mood for autumn. (P.s. next payday, just do it!)

Red & Auburn Revival
Red tones are making a strong return this season, with rich, multidimensional auburn shades offering warmth and depth that's perfect for autumn and winter. From deep coppers to cinnamon tones and soft crimson hues, there’s a shade to suit every style.
If you're not ready to go full red, subtle options like reddish browns, rustic ambers or soft auburns are an easy way to warm up your look and add softness around the face. Whether you're trying something new, making a subtle shift, or enhancing your natural red, these shades bring a flattering, seasonal update.
Gabs wears 24" Invisi® Tape extensions in shades 'Crimson' and 'Cinnamon Melt' - the perfect blend for a soft, dimensional red with a natural, lived-in finish, styled using the Molly-Mae Curl Kit for effortless, polished waves.
Top tip: Can’t find your perfect shade? Mix and match shades to create a unique auburn that complements your natural hair colour and skin tone. Customising your extensions with multiple tones gives a salon-fresh finish every time.
Bright & Bold Coppers
Lighter copper tones are also a great option for the colder months, adding warmth and brightness to your hair. These golden ginger shades work well across a range of skin tones and offer a fresh way to update your colour for the season.
We love this look using 22” Slimline® Tape extensions in shades ‘Amber’ and ‘Butterscotch’ - a warm, radiant blend that adds brightness and vibrancy.
Tasha Ghouri’s stuns in copper, wearing our 18” Slimline® Tapes in the shade ‘Amber’. Her look is soft yet striking, with just the right amount of golden warmth to enhance her features and add dimension to her colour.
If you're after a seasonal refresh that feels vibrant but wearable, these brighter blends are a strong choice for autumn/winter.
Luxe Brunettes
Brunette shades always feel right for autumn/winter. From chocolatey browns to soft mochas and deep espresso tones, they bring warmth and depth that work beautifully with the season.
This year, it's all about creating dimension. Blending cooler brown bases with warmer undertones adds subtle contrast and movement, giving the hair a healthy, glossy finish that still feels natural. For an extra polished look, finish with the Beauty Works Mirror Shine Spray to enhance shine and smooth flyaways.
We’re obsessed with Christy’s look, combining 20” Slimline® Tape extensions and 20" XXS Weft in shades ‘Cacao’ and ‘Cinnamon Melt’. The result? A seamlessly blended brunette with subtle warmth and serious depth – perfect for autumn layering and party-season styling.
For something deeper, Shay Mitchell shows how to wear a bold brunette with confidence. She wears the 18” Double Hair Set in shade ‘Raven’, a rich, dark tone that adds drama and depth while maintaining a polished, wearable finish.
These brunette blends are ultra-low maintenance, effortlessly enhancing natural hair and offering long-lasting shine, body and richness throughout the colder months.
Cool, Clean Blondes for A/W
Blonde isn’t just for summer. Cooler, more neutral blondes are ideal for autumn and winter, offering a fresh, polished look that works effortlessly with the softer light and layered styling of the season.
Molly-Mae wears a custom blend of Slimline® Tape extensions in the shades ‘Molly-Mae’, ‘Glacier Blonde’ and ‘Swiss Blonde’. Together, these shades create a clean, bright blonde with soft dimension and a natural-looking finish.
Cooler blondes tend to reflect light better in low winter sun, giving your hair a glossy, expensive-looking finish throughout the season. Whether you’re keeping things light or freshening up your blonde for winter, these tones are a go-to for a sleek, refined look. To maintain that cool, icy finish, we recommend using the Beauty Works Anti-Yellow Shampoo - it helps neutralise brassy tones and keeps your blonde looking fresh between salon visits.
Cooler blondes tend to reflect light better in low winter sun, giving your hair a glossy, expensive-looking finish all season long.
