The new year is the perfect time for fresh starts and setting goals. Is your goal this year to become that girl? You know, the girl that follows routines, maintains a healthy diet and prioritises self care? If you don’t know, that girl is a Tik Tok trend that has taken over this past year, and is basically all about becoming the best version of yourself (which we’re here for!) But we do understand that starting all of these new habits at once can be challenging! So we’ve set out our top tips on how to be that girl this year. 

1. Clean your space 

For a fresh start this year, we recommend cleaning and organising your space. Whether this means sorting through school work or paper work, getting rid of any out-of-date beauty products or donating clothes that you don’t wear to charity. 

2. Set a sleep schedule

Your whole day can depend on how much sleep you’re getting. If you feel tired throughout the day, you’re probably not going to want to do those extra little tasks that make you feel like that girl. We recommend putting your phone away an hour before you go to sleep to avoid that inevitable two hour TikTok scroll. 

3. Move your body every day

A lot of new year’s resolutions involve a super-strict workout routine that might not be maintainable. Instead, try opting for a goal of just moving your body for 30 minutes a day. Whether that’s going on a walk, heading to the gym or doing yoga at home. As this is easier to maintain, you’re more likely to stick to it! 

4. Dedicate time to your selfcare routine

Try spending some extra time on your selfcare routine, whether it’s 5 minutes or 30 minutes. 5. Eat foods that fuel you

It’s 2023 and we’re officially over diet culture. Instead, try to focus on consistently eating balanced, nutritional meals and whole foods that will give you all the energy you need for the day. This way, you can achieve a healthier diet without counting calories. 

6. Invest in things that help you feel confident 

Achieving that girl aesthetic is all about self-confidence and being your best self. If you’re able to invest in something that will help you feel more confident on a day-to-day basis then go for it! Whether that’s new clothes for work, better skincare or hair extensions!
